Football transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Granit Xhaka will be leaving Arsenal at the end of this season. The 30-year-old midfielder has been with the club since 2016, but it seems that his time at the Emirates Stadium is coming to an end.

Xhaka has been a key player for Arsenal over the years, but he has also had his fair share of controversies. In 2019, he was stripped of the captaincy after an altercation with fans during a game against Crystal Palace. However, he has since bounced back and become an important part of Mikel Arteta’s team.

This season, Xhaka has scored five goals and made seven assists in all competitions. Despite his contributions on the pitch, it seems that Arsenal are ready to let him go. According to Romano, there have been no negotiations over a new deal and the plan is to part ways in June.

Bayer Leverkusen are said to be in advanced talks to sign Xhaka for a fee of €15 million. It is understood that personal terms are almost agreed upon for a four-year deal that would keep him at the club until June 2027.

Xhaka’s departure will be a blow for Arsenal, but it could also be an opportunity for Arteta to bring in some fresh talent.

As for Xhaka, a move to Bayer Leverkusen could be just what he needs to reignite his career. The German club have a reputation for developing young talent and playing attractive football. Experienced Xhaka could thrive in their system and help them push for European qualification next season.

Overall, it seems like Xhaka’s time at Arsenal is coming to an end. While he has been a valuable player for the club, it is clear that both parties are ready to move on. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next and how Arsenal replace him in the midfield.
