Nicolas Pepe, the Ivorian winger, is no longer a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for Arsenal. The player has just one year left on his current contract, and although Arsenal is keen to garner a fee for him, plans have been made for the termination of his contract if required as per a report Mirror.

Pepe was loaned to French Ligue one side Nice for this season, where he was only able to get six goals. He has now returned to Arsenal, which could sell him this summer. The 26-year-old joined Arsenal in 2019 from Lille for a club-record fee of £72million but has failed to live up to expectations.

Pepe’s exclusion from Arteta’s plans comes as no surprise given his lackluster performances over the past seasons. He has struggled to adapt to English football and has been inconsistent throughout his time at Arsenal.

Despite his struggles, Pepe still possesses immense talent and could be an asset to any team that can unlock his potential. However, it seems unlikely that he will be able to do so at Arsenal under Arteta’s management.

Arsenal is keen on recouping some of the money they spent on Pepe by selling him this summer. However, given his poor form and high wages, finding a buyer may prove difficult.

If no buyer is found, Arsenal may have no choice but to terminate Pepe’s contract and let him leave on a free transfer. This would be a significant financial loss for the club, but it may be the only option if they are unable to find a buyer.
