How Arsenal will lineup with Declan Rice next season
Arsenal will likely sign Declan Rice by the end of this week and here is how the North Londoners will lineup with the English international.
Arsenal fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Declan Rice at the Emirates Stadium this summer. The 24-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to the Gunners for weeks, and Arsenal has already had one bid rejected by West Ham United.
If Arsenal does manage to sign Rice, it would be a significant boost to their midfield. Rice is a versatile player who can play as a defensive midfielder or as a center-back. He is known for his excellent passing range, tackling ability, and leadership qualities.
So how would Arsenal line up with Declan Rice in their squad? Let’s take a look.
In goal, Aaron Ramsdale is likely to retain his place as the first-choice goalkeeper. The Englishman had an impressive season for Arsenal and was one of the reasons why they were able to challenge Manchester City for the title.
In defense, Arsenal could line up with Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at center-back, and Ben White at right-back. Zinchenko would provide attacking impetus from the left flank while Saliba and Gabriel would form a solid partnership in central defense. White’s versatility would allow him to play on either flank.
In midfield, Rice would partner Thomas Partey in central midfield. The duo would provide a formidable shield in front of the defense and allow Arsenal’s attacking players more freedom to express themselves.
In attack, Gabriel Martinelli could start on the left wing with Martin Odegaard playing in the number 10 role. Bukayo Saka could start on the right wing while Gabriel Jesus leads the line upfront.
This lineup would give Arsenal plenty of options going forward while also providing defensive stability. Rice’s presence in midfield would allow Partey to push forward more often while also providing cover when needed.
Overall, if Arsenal does manage to sign Declan Rice this summer, it could be a game-changer for the Gunners. With Rice in their squad, Arsenal could challenge for the title once again and potentially end their long wait for a Premier League trophy.
