Arsenal star that’s been sold sends a farewell message to the gooners
The summer transfer window has been a rollercoaster already even though it’s just been weeks since it opened and an Arsenal star has sent a farewell message to the gooners.
Pablo Mari, the Spanish defender, has bid farewell to the Arsenal supporters after it was confirmed that he would be leaving the club this summer. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Mari expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support and for giving him the opportunity to represent such a great and historic club.
The statement from Arsenal confirmed that Mari has joined AC Monza in a permanent transfer. The 29-year-old initially signed for Arsenal on loan in January 2020 before joining permanently six months later. During his time with the Gunners, Mari made 22 appearances in all competitions, including scoring a goal in their 4-1 UEFA Europa League win against Rapid Vienna in December 2020.
“As my contract with Arsenal comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.” wrote Pablo Mari on Instagram.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent this great and historic club, for all the memories we lived together and for the support I always received.”
Before joining Arsenal, Mari played an integral role in Flamengo’s success, helping them win both the Brazilian league title and the South American Copa Libertadores. After a short-term spell with Udinese, Mari spent last season on loan with AC Monza, where he made 31 appearances and helped his newly promoted side secure an 11th-place finish in Serie A.
Mari’s time at Arsenal was not without its challenges. In October 2022, he suffered an attack that left him injured while in Milan. However, he showed tremendous strength and courage to recover from this setback and return to full fitness. The club expressed their happiness at seeing him back on the field and thanked him for his contribution during his time at Arsenal.
As Mari embarks on a new chapter of his career with AC Monza, he thanked the fans once again for their support and for the memories they created together. He expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to represent such a prestigious club and promised to cherish those memories forever.
Arsenal also extended their well wishes to Mari and his family as they begin this new journey. They thanked him for his contribution to the club and wished him nothing but health and happiness moving forward.
Mari’s departure from Arsenal marks the end of his time with the club, but it is clear that he has left a lasting impact on both the fans and the team. His dedication, resilience, and skill on the field will not be forgotten, and he will always be remembered as a part of Arsenal’s history.
