Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided some positive news ahead of their upcoming match against Crystal Palace. He confirmed that left back Alex Oleksandr Zinchenko is progressing well in his recovery from injury and could be available for selection soon.

The new Premier League season kicked off last week, and Arsenal got off to a strong start with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. This win has put them in fourth place on the league table, and they will be looking to build on this early success.

However, injuries have been a concern for the Gunners, with Zinchenko being one of the players sidelined. The Ukrainian international suffered an injury during pre-season training, which ruled him out of the opening game. But Arteta’s latest update suggests that Zinchenko’s return is imminent.

“Alex [Zinchenko] is doing really well,” Arteta revealed in an interview with Football Daily. “He’s been training with us, and hopefully we’re going to have him available very soon.” Arteta told Football Daily.

Zinchenko’s return will be a significant boost for Arsenal, as he provides depth and quality to their defensive options. The 26-year-old has established himself as a reliable left back since joining the club from Manchester City. His versatility also allows him to play as a midfielder if needed.

With Zinchenko nearing full fitness, Arteta will have more options at his disposal for the upcoming fixtures. This will provide healthy competition within the squad and allow the manager to rotate his players effectively.

Arsenal’s next match against Crystal Palace is crucial as they aim to maintain their positive start to the season. Crystal Palace themselves have had a decent start, securing four points from their first two games. Therefore, Arteta will want all his key players available for selection.
