Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shed light on his decision to leave Eddie Nketiah out of the starting eleven in their recent match against Fulham. The Gunners ended up drawing 2-2 with the London rivals at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta acknowledged that it was a difficult choice to leave Nketiah on the bench, stating, “It’s difficult to leave all the players out. At the moment though we are once a week, when we are two a week it’s going to be a completely different scenario how we are prepared for that.” This suggests that Arteta had to make some tough decisions regarding team selection due to the limited number of games being played at the moment.

Despite not starting the match, Nketiah made a significant impact when he was brought on as a substitute in the second half. He scored Arsenal’s second goal, which ultimately helped them salvage a draw. The young striker prodded in a brilliant low cross from Fabio Vieira to give his team the lead before Fulham equalized late in the game.

The draw against Fulham means that Arsenal now have two wins and one draw in their first three Premier League matches of the season. While they would have preferred all three points, Arteta will take some positives from the team’s ability to come from behind and secure a point.

As the season progresses and fixtures become more congested, Arteta will have to carefully manage his squad and make tough decisions regarding team selection. Players like Nketiah will likely have more opportunities to prove themselves and contribute to the team’s success.
