Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson scored for the gunners in their game against Brentford and the Englishman has opened up on this special moment.
Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has expressed his delight after scoring the winning goal for the Gunners in their recent Carabao Cup victory over Brentford. The 23-year-old opened up about his feelings following the match, stating via club official website, “It’s good man, it’s nice to be back out there on the pitch, nice to be starting with some familiar faces, Emile, Eddie. And it was good, a very confident feeling to win, get a goal, and delighted to be in the next round.”
Nelson also provided a detailed account of his goal-scoring moment. He explained how his teammate Eddie Nketiah’s aggressive pressing led to a loose touch from Brentford’s center-back. Nketiah quickly laid off the ball to Nelson, who initially thought the defender would intercept it. However, he continued his movement and managed to slot the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
The victory against Brentford sees Arsenal progress to the next round of the Carabao Cup. Currently sitting in fifth position on the Premier League table with 14 points, Arsenal will now shift their focus to their upcoming league match against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners will be hoping to carry their winning momentum into this crucial fixture as they aim to climb higher up the Premier League standings. With Nelson showcasing his ability to make an impact offensively, manager Mikel Arteta may consider giving him more opportunities in future matches.
Nelson’s performance against Brentford highlights his potential as an important asset for Arsenal this season. As he continues to gain confidence and build chemistry with his teammates, fans can expect more exciting moments from this talented winger in upcoming games.
