Arteta reveals depressing news on possible return of Thomas Partey
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has today provided further injury update on Thomas Partey who missed the recent games of the gunners.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has delivered some disappointing news for Arsenal fans regarding the injury of midfielder Thomas Partey. Partey, who missed their recent game against Sheffield United, is expected to be out of action for several weeks.
Speaking to reporters about Partey’s injury, Arteta expressed uncertainty about the exact duration of his absence. “I think he will be out for weeks – I don’t know how long but he’s got another appointment today and we will see more after that,” Arteta stated telling reporters. The manager also acknowledged Partey’s disappointment, saying, “He was gutted [about his injury] and we are for him, but he needs to lift himself up again with our support and go again because he’s a player that is critical for us.”
Partey’s absence will undoubtedly be felt by Arsenal, as the Ghanaian midfielder has been an influential figure in their midfield this season. Despite this setback, Arsenal currently find themselves in a promising position on the Premier League table. With 24 points, they sit in second place in the 2023/24 campaign.
In their most recent Premier League fixture against Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal showcased their attacking prowess with an impressive 5-0 victory. This result further solidified their position near the top of the table.
Looking ahead, Arsenal’s next challenge will come in the form of a Carabao Cup round of 16 clash against West Ham United at The London Stadium on Wednesday. With Partey sidelined, Arteta will need to rely on other players to step up and fill the void left by his absence.
Despite this setback, Arsenal fans can take solace in knowing that their team has shown resilience and depth throughout the season thus far. As they continue to navigate through a demanding schedule, Arteta and his squad will need to rally together and maintain their strong form in order to achieve success on multiple fronts.
