Arsenal left back Oleksandr Zinchenko has spoken out about the importance of their fans as a secret weapon ahead of their upcoming match against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in last year’s summer transfer window, has quickly become a fan favorite at his new club.

In an interview, Zinchenko expressed his excitement for the game against his former team, acknowledging that it will be a tough challenge. Arsenal has not managed to secure a victory against Manchester City in the Premier League for quite some time, making this match even more significant for them.

“It’s a massive game for us. Unfortunately we haven’t won against City for a long time in the Premier League. Obviously we’re expecting a tough game.” Zinchenko told Arsenal Media.

“The fans at Emirates Stadium are always trying to push us forward. We really appreciate it because it helps us a lot when there are tough moments.”

Zinchenko highlighted the role of the Emirates Stadium crowd in pushing the team forward during difficult moments. He expressed his gratitude for their support and acknowledged how it helps them on the pitch. The Ukrainian left back also praised the quality of the pitch at Emirates Stadium, mentioning that he never experienced cramps while playing there due to its excellent condition.

The atmosphere at Emirates Stadium is known to be electric, and Zinchenko described how it gives him goosebumps when he hears the crowd singing “North London Forever” before kick-off. This kind of support from fans can undoubtedly boost morale and motivate players to perform at their best.

Currently sitting in third place on the Premier League table with 17 points, Arsenal is having a solid start to their 2023/24 campaign. Their most recent game was a UEFA Champions League match against Lens, which unfortunately ended in a 2-1 defeat for Arsenal. However, they will be looking to bounce back and secure a victory against Manchester City on Sunday.

With Zinchenko’s words highlighting the importance of their fans and their unwavering support, Arsenal will undoubtedly be hoping for a strong performance at home. The Emirates Stadium faithful will play a crucial role in creating an intimidating atmosphere for Manchester City and inspiring their team to break their winless streak against the reigning Premier League champions.
