Arsenal legend reveals the “robbery” in Declan Rice’s move to the gunners
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has heaped praise on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice for his impressive performances this season. The former Arsenal striker expressed his admiration for Rice’s leadership qualities on the pitch, describing him as a captain in the way he plays.
Wright, who is known for his witty sense of humor, also made a lighthearted joke about Rice’s market value. Speaking to the media, Wright said, “I feel like we robbed you (West Ham), I feel like we should give you an extra £20m. I’m going to give you an extra £20m because it’s making me feel guilty that we’ve only got him for £100m.”
The 2023/24 Premier League campaign has seen Declan Rice continue to shine for West Ham, and his performances have not gone unnoticed by footballing legends like Ian Wright. The 24-year-old midfielder has been a key player for West Ham and has been instrumental in their strong start to the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table with 30 points after 13 league games in the 2023/24 campaign. With their impressive form and strong squad depth, Arsenal will be hoping to maintain their position at the top of the table as they aim to secure another league title under manager Mikel Arteta.
