Arsenal legend reveals what’s surprised him about Arteta and his squad’s performances
Arsenal are currently third on the Premier League table and gunners legend has opened up on what has surprised him about Mikel Arteta’s squad’s performance.
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has expressed his surprise at how well Mikel Arteta’s squad is performing this season. The Gunners are currently in 3rd position on the Premier League table with 27 points in the 2023/24 campaign, and their recent 3-1 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium has left many fans and pundits impressed.
Seaman, who made over 400 appearances for Arsenal during his career, admitted that he did not expect the team to be doing so well this season. “Arsenal are surprising me if I’m honest because we’re not playing as well as we did last season, but we’re getting the results,” he said.
The Gunners’ next game will be against Brentford in the Premier League at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 25th November 2023 after the international break. With key players like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe in fine form, Arsenal will be looking to continue their impressive run of results.
Seaman’s comments reflect the sentiment of many Arsenal fans who have been pleasantly surprised by the team’s performances this season. While there is still a long way to go in the campaign, it is clear that Arteta’s side is making progress and challenging for a top-four finish.
As a former player and a club legend, Seaman’s opinion carries weight, and his positive assessment of Arsenal’s season so far will undoubtedly boost morale among the players and fans alike.
