Declan Rice reveals the immense burden he is carrying since he joined Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has opened up about the pressure and burden of his huge price tag since joining the club in a record-breaking transfer from West Ham United. The 24-year-old was signed for a staggering £105 million, making him one of the most expensive players in football history.
In a recent interview, Rice admitted that he feels the weight of expectation that comes with such a hefty price tag. “It’s £100 million, it’s a lot of money, I could understand the pressure that comes with it. Not only the pressure you put on yourself but there’s an expectation of being bought for that much money,” he said.
The England international also revealed that he was nervous when the transfer was going through because of the astronomical price tag. “When the transfer was going through I was very nervous because of the price tag. It’s natural to think about that. You’re a human being bought for £105 million, it doesn’t feel very normal!” Rice said.
Despite feeling the pressure, Rice is determined to repay Arsenal’s faith in him and prove his worth on the pitch. “I want to re-pay the club straight away, they have invested a lot of money in me, I need to prove why I can go there and change things,” he stated.
Rice also emphasized that he will not let the price tag change who he is as a player. “When I signed for Arsenal I just thought, ‘I just need to be Declan Rice’, be myself, don’t be any different, everything will go smoothly,” he said.
As one of Arsenal’s marquee signings, all eyes will be on Rice as he looks to justify his record-breaking transfer fee and make an impact at his new club. Only time will tell if he can live up to the expectations and deliver performances worthy of his hefty price tag.
