Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has opened up about the team’s determination to bounce back after their first Premier League loss of the season against Newcastle United on Saturday. The gunners were defeated 1-0 at St James Park, ending their unbeaten run in the league.

Raya revealed that the squad has already set their sights on a new goal – to go on a longer unbeaten run in the Premier League. The Spanish shot-stopper expressed his disappointment over the loss but remained positive about their chances in the upcoming matches.

“We’re going to have to start winning games again, and hopefully, we can go on a longer unbeaten run in the Premier League. Now our focus is Sevilla on Wednesday at home, that’s another massive game for us. All we can say, is we want the three points,” Raya told Arsenal Media.

The gunners are currently in 4th position on the Premier League table with 24 points in this 2023/24 campaign. They have been in impressive form so far this season, with their only defeat coming against Newcastle United.

Their next game will be a crucial one as they face Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. Raya emphasized the importance of this game and how the team is looking forward to playing in front of their home fans.

“We are very excited to be back at home at the Emirates with our fans behind us, and to try to get the three points on Wednesday will be massive for us. It’s a very important game,” he said.

The gunners will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat and continue their impressive form in the league. With players like Raya in top form and the support of their fans, Arsenal will be a force to be reckoned with as they aim to go on an unbeaten run in the Premier League.
