Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the question of whether his squad requires new signings in the January transfer window amidst their recent setbacks. The Gunners suffered a 2-0 loss against Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup, prompting discussions about potential reinforcements to revitalize the team’s form.

In response, Arteta expressed his faith in the existing squad by saying, “Stick with the ones we have – they are incredibly good. If not, they don’t do what they’ve done again today, in Anfield & here. Stick with them, it’s exactly what they need, that we are fully behind them.” The manager further emphasized the significance of backing the players, stating, “Then they feel important & supported because they deserve it, with their attitude they don’t deserve anything different. That’s my opinion.”

Arsenal, currently positioned 4th in the Premier League with 40 points from 20 games in the 2023/24 campaign, face an imminent challenge against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on 20th January, 2024. The need for potential signings may have arisen from recent on-field struggles, but Arteta’s stance indicates his belief in the squad’s capabilities and the importance of nurturing a supportive environment for the players.

The manager’s unwavering confidence in the team reflects a commitment to maintaining solidarity within the existing ranks while striving to propel the club to greater heights. As Arsenal prepares to face Crystal Palace, Arteta’s words underscore a philosophy of faith in the current squad’s abilities, setting the stage for an intriguing trajectory as they seek to reinvigorate their pursuit of success in the Premier League and other competitions.
