Arteta reveals two Arsenal players that could miss the Sheffield United game
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided insight into the injury status of two key players, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko, ahead of the upcoming fixture against Sheffield United. Arteta has indicated that the availability of the duo remains uncertain for the imminent clash, shedding light on the ongoing assessment and potential inclusion of the players in the matchday squad depending on their progress in the final training sessions leading up to the game.
Arteta stated via club media, “Those ones are possible but we have to wait and see, especially with the last two sessions that we have on Saturday and Sunday. If that’s the case, they might be available on Monday,” highlighting the cautious approach taken by the Arsenal coaching staff in evaluating Tomiyasu and Zinchenko’s readiness for competitive action. Both players have been dealing with respective calf injuries, with Tomiyasu having sustained his injury two weeks ago while Zinchenko has been nursing his calf concern for a few weeks.
The uncertainty surrounding the involvement of Tomiyasu and Zinchenko adds a layer of intrigue to Arsenal’s preparation for the Sheffield United encounter at Bramall Lane on Monday. As the Gunners look to maintain their strong position in the Premier League standings, currently occupying the third spot with 58 points accumulated from 26 league games in the ongoing 2023/24 campaign, the potential return of these key individuals could bolster Arteta’s squad depth and tactical options for the crucial fixture.
Arsenal’s recent 4-1 triumph over Newcastle United showcased their attacking prowess and defensive stability, underlining the team’s determination to secure positive results. With the availability of Tomiyasu and Zinchenko hanging in the balance, Arsenal fans eagerly await the final verdict on their participation in Monday’s matchup as Arteta navigates the team through this period of uncertainty and strives for a full-strength squad to face Sheffield United.
