Trossard reveals the feeling in the Arsenal dressing room after Bayern draw
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has offered insight into the mixed emotions within the Arsenal dressing room following their 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Speaking to Arsenal Media, Trossard described the atmosphere after the match: “It’s a mixed feeling, I would say. I think we started so well in the first 15 minutes; we could have been up by two or three goals. And then you can see their quality as well, especially up front, their individual qualities, they’re so strong, especially on the counter-attack, and that’s where they hurt us today.”
Trossard acknowledged the contrasting emotions within the team, highlighting Arsenal’s strong start and subsequent defensive challenges posed by Bayern Munich’s attacking prowess.
The Belgian forward emphasized the significance of salvaging a draw with a late equalizer, stating: “At the end I think we’re happy obviously with the equaliser, it brings us back on equal terms and then we have to do it there.”
Reflecting on the match, Trossard’s comments underscore the competitive nature of the Champions League quarter-finals and Arsenal’s determination to respond positively in the return leg at the Allianz Arena.
With the tie delicately poised at 2-2, Arsenal will need to draw upon the positives from their performance while addressing defensive vulnerabilities ahead of the crucial second leg.
Arsenal’s focus will now shift to their upcoming Premier League fixture against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 14th April, 2024, as they continue their pursuit of success in both domestic and European competitions.
