Arsenal midfielder Sambi Lokonga has confirmed his departure from the club, despite returning from a successful loan spell at Luton Town. The 24-year-old Belgian international, who has one year remaining on his contract with Arsenal, has decided that his future lies elsewhere.

“For me, I had a discussion with Arsenal & the conclusion was the best thing for me was to leave the club, so now it’s up to my agent & the club to find something,” Lokonga told BBC. “I still have a contract there, 1 year plus 1 year option so let’s see what happens.”

Lokonga’s decision comes after a productive loan spell at Luton Town, where he played a key role for them. While the move could have seen him return to Arsenal with increased confidence and experience, it seems that the club and the player have mutually decided that a fresh start is best for both parties.

While Lokonga’s future remains uncertain, his statement suggests that he will be looking for a permanent move away from Arsenal. His performances at Luton Town have likely attracted interest from other clubs, and it will be interesting to see where the talented midfielder ends up next.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
