Arsenal legend Tony Adams gives advice to Arteta about transfer window
The summer transfer window will soon open and Arsenal legend Tony Adams has opened up with some advice for current gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal legend Tony Adams has offered Mikel Arteta crucial insights on the areas that need strengthening in the upcoming summer transfer window. Following a strong 2023/24 season that saw Arsenal finish in second place with 89 points, just behind Manchester City’s 91, Adams believes there are key positions that require reinforcement to help the Gunners push for the Premier League title next season.
Adams, who captained Arsenal during their successful periods, highlighted the need for a reliable centre-forward. “For me, maybe he needs a centre-forward still, maybe he needs someone in there. Havertz had an unbelievable season. Can he do it again? Don’t know. Gabriel Jesus? Not sure,” Adams stated. Despite Kai Havertz’s impressive performance, contributing 13 goals and 7 assists, Adams suggests that relying solely on Havertz and Gabriel Jesus might not be sufficient for a title challenge.
Additionally, Adams pointed out the left-back position as another area of concern. With Oleksandr Zinchenko struggling with injuries throughout the season, Arsenal’s defense occasionally lacked stability. Adams proposed a potential solution with the return of Jurrien Timber. “Left-back also, we’re going to have to look at Timber maybe. He maybe goes in at the left-back spot and does a job for us next year,” he suggested.
Addressing these two positions could provide Arsenal with the depth and consistency needed to compete at the highest level. “They are the two areas that I can see where you can actually improve this team and this squad,” Adams concluded, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the squad to build on this season’s successes.
As the transfer window approaches, Arteta and the Arsenal management will be considering these recommendations. With the right additions, Arsenal can enhance their chances of dethroning Manchester City and finally lifting the Premier League trophy. Fans will be eagerly watching the club’s transfer moves, hopeful that addressing these key areas will pave the way for an even more successful campaign next season.
