Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about the recently concluded season and whether he harbors any regrets. Despite finishing in 2nd place, just two points behind champions Manchester City, Arteta remains optimistic and proud of his team’s achievements.

When asked if he has any regrets about last season, Arteta responded: “No regrets. You look at moments in the season, but this season’s been almost perfect. To make the amount of points that we made – both us and City – in this competitive league. We cannot compare this league to what happened two years ago, three years ago, five years ago.”

Arteta’s remarks underscore the unprecedented level of competition in the Premier League. He acknowledges that the points tally achieved by both Arsenal and Manchester City this season is a testament to the evolving nature of the league. “Those numbers … it won’t happen. The level of the league – it’s at a different stage now,” he added.

The 2023/24 season saw Arsenal accumulate 89 points, a remarkable achievement that would have secured the title in many past seasons. However, Manchester City’s consistency and strength ensured that the Gunners fell just short. Arteta recognizes the need to continually improve and adapt in order to challenge for the title again next season. “Now it’s time to recharge, try to be stronger, seeing where the margins are and go again next season,” he said.

Arteta’s focus on recharging and identifying areas for improvement highlights his commitment to maintaining Arsenal’s upward trajectory. With the summer transfer window approaching, the Gunners will likely look to bolster their squad to bridge the narrow gap to City.

As the Arsenal faithful reflect on a season of near-perfection, Arteta’s words offer a blend of pride and determination. The progress made this season sets a solid foundation for future success, and the manager’s clear vision for the team’s development promises an exciting 2024/25 campaign.
