Despite having two bids rejected earlier in the summer, Arsenal are continuing their pursuit of Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley. The Gunners are looking to sign the 29-year-old as their third-choice keeper, providing cover for David Raya  and Aaron Ramsdale.

According to CaughtOffside, negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs, with a potential breakthrough seemingly on the horizon. It is believed that a fee of under £1 million could be agreed upon, reflecting Bentley’s status as a backup option.

While Arsenal’s initial offers were reportedly deemed insufficient by Wolves, a compromise appears to be within reach. Both clubs recognize the need to finalize the transfer quickly, allowing Bentley to settle into his new environment ahead of the upcoming season.

The signing of Bentley would provide Arsenal with crucial depth in a crucial position. With Ramsdale firmly established as the first-choice goalkeeper and Turner providing competition, Bentley’s arrival would ensure adequate cover in case of injury or suspension.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Bentley further highlights their commitment to strengthening their squad across all positions. Following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for €45 million, the Gunners are actively working to address any potential weaknesses in the squad.

While the transfer fee for Bentley is relatively modest, his experience and proven ability in the Championship could be invaluable for Arsenal. The 29-year-old is familiar with the demands of English football and his presence would provide a reliable option should he be called upon.

With negotiations ongoing, the transfer of Dan Bentley to Arsenal could be completed in the coming days or weeks. This move would further strengthen the Gunners’ squad and provide them with a reliable backup option in the crucial goalkeeper position.
