Arteta hints at signing more players after Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted at the possibility of further additions to his squad in the closing days of the summer transfer window. Speaking after his side’s impressive 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, Arteta acknowledged the need for reinforcements, highlighting the squad’s current lack of depth.
“We are a little bit short, if we can do something we will do it,” Arteta stated, suggesting that the club is actively exploring potential signings. “We need good availability from everybody, we don’t have 23 outfield players and normally you have to be equipped like that.”
The Gunners have already made one notable acquisition this summer, bringing in Italian left-back Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee believed to be around €45 million. However, Arteta’s comments suggest that further signings are on the horizon, potentially addressing areas of concern within the squad.
With the transfer window closing in just a few days, Arsenal will be hoping to finalize any deals quickly to ensure their squad is ready for the challenging fixtures ahead. Arteta’s desire to strengthen his squad, particularly in terms of depth, underlines his commitment to maintaining Arsenal’s competitive edge in the Premier League and beyond.
