Despite interest from Marseille, Arsenal are prepared to keep hold of Eddie Nketiah if their valuation for the striker isn’t met, according to HITC.

Marseille have reportedly had two bids for the 24-year-old rejected, with the Gunners holding firm on their demands. This stance, however, isn’t a sign of Arteta wanting to offload Nketiah. Instead, the manager has made it clear that he is more than happy with the player’s contributions and is not pushing him out of the club.

Nketiah, while primarily a substitute last season, made 27 appearances for the Gunners, chipping in with 5 goals and 2 assists in the Premier League. His impact in the final third, particularly as a substitute, proved crucial for Arsenal in their successful title challenge, where they finished second behind Manchester City.

Arteta’s faith in Nketiah suggests that the striker could play a more prominent role next season, potentially filling the void left by the departure of Gabriel Jesus. With the club pursuing a new forward, Nketiah’s presence provides valuable depth and competition in the attacking line.

The decision to hold onto Nketiah highlights Arsenal’s commitment to building a strong squad with depth and versatility. The club’s ambitions remain high, and Arteta is keen to ensure they have a solid core of players capable of competing on all fronts.

While Marseille’s interest may have tempted the club to let Nketiah go, the Gunners have ultimately decided to keep him, demonstrating their confidence in his abilities and the vital role he can play in their future success.
