Arteta makes a statement after Arsenal confirms that he’s signed a new contract

Mikel Arteta has expressed his pride and excitement after signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal, committing his future to the club he has transformed in recent years.
“I feel extremely proud, very excited and am looking forward to what is coming next,” Arteta said in a statement. “I’m proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club.”
The Spaniard, who joined Arsenal in December 2019, has played a key role in the club’s resurgence, leading them to an FA Cup victory in 2020 and back-to-back second-place finishes in the Premier League.
Arteta highlighted the importance of the club’s culture and the connection with the fans. “I feel extremely lucky to work every single day with good people and the ambition we have here,” he stated. “I feel very inspired, I feel challenged, I feel supported and I want to do much more than what we’ve already done together.”
The manager credited the transformative role of the supporters, emphasizing their influence on the team’s identity. “Together with the players and everyone at the club, we are looking forward to the coming years, with our supporters, who have emotionally transformed the club and the team. Our supporters have transformed individuals and we are different now. You can tell that we are different and for me, that is down to them. We look forward to continuing the journey together.”
With this new deal secured, Arteta’s focus will remain on continuing the club’s upward trajectory and achieving further success both domestically and in Europe.
