Arsenal may face their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk without two of their key players, Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber. According to The Standard journalist Simon Collings, neither Saka nor Timber was present at training on Monday, raising serious doubts about their availability for Tuesday’s critical European fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

Bukayo Saka, who has been struggling with ongoing fitness issues in recent weeks, had been a major question mark for Arsenal heading into the match. Manager Mikel Arteta had previously hinted that Saka’s availability would depend on his progress after the final training session, but his absence on Monday suggests he could miss the Champions League tie. Saka’s absence would be a significant blow for the Gunners, as the young winger has been a crucial part of their attacking unit this season.

Without Saka and Timber, Arsenal’s squad depth will be tested as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League over the weekend. The Gunners are currently in third place in the Premier League, with 17 points from eight games, and will need to regroup quickly for their European campaign.

Arteta will be hoping for a strong performance from the rest of his squad as they aim to secure vital points in their Champions League group and keep their momentum alive despite the injury setbacks.
