Former Arsenal star tells Arteta the player that must be brought against Liverpool

Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has shared his thoughts on how the Gunners should approach their upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool, emphasizing the need for experience in such a high-stakes game. Speaking to Sky Sports, Walcott highlighted the importance of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s leadership and suggested he could be a crucial inclusion in the squad for the match against Liverpool following Arsenal’s Champions League fixture.
“And maybe bring in the experience of Zinchenko. They might need more of a talker, someone who knows this sort of fixture and the importance of it. Mikel knows that. It is one of those where they really need to get a result,” Walcott stated, stressing the value of Zinchenko’s presence in big matches.
Zinchenko, a versatile defender with significant experience, especially from his time at Manchester City, has been a key player for Arsenal since joining the club. His leadership on the pitch, particularly in challenging fixtures, could be exactly what Arsenal needs as they look to bounce back from their recent 2-0 loss to Bournemouth.
Currently sitting in third place in the Premier League with 17 points from eight matches, Arsenal is aiming to stay in the title race. After their midweek Champions League encounter with Shakhtar Donetsk, Arsenal will host Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium next weekend, a game that could have major implications for the title challenge.
Walcott believes Zinchenko’s experience in these kinds of high-pressure matches will help settle the team and provide the leadership needed to secure a result. As Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his side and regroup after recent setbacks, Zinchenko’s inclusion could play a pivotal role in Arsenal’s response to adversity.
