Arteta confirms the two Arsenal players that will miss the game against Newcastle

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that both Riccardo Calafiori and Martin Odegaard will be unavailable for the club’s upcoming clash against Newcastle United. This revelation adds to Arsenal’s current injury concerns as they look to secure crucial points in the Premier League.
Speaking to the press, Arteta was clear about the duo’s absence, saying, “Ricky and Martin are out definitely.” This news is a significant blow for the Gunners, especially given Odegaard’s importance to the team as captain and creative playmaker. Odegaard, who has been sidelined due to an ankle injury, has missed several games, and his absence continues to impact Arsenal’s midfield dynamics. His ability to control the tempo and provide incisive passes has been missed, and Arsenal will have to find alternative solutions to drive their offense in his absence.
Riccardo Calafiori, another recent addition to the Arsenal squad, is also out with an injury. The young defender has been gradually settling into Arteta’s system, showing promise with his defensive solidity and tactical awareness. However, his injury has prevented him from gaining more experience in the team, and his absence limits Arteta’s defensive options.
With both Calafiori and Odegaard sidelined, Arsenal will have to rely on squad depth to fill the gaps. Players like Jorginho and Emile Smith Rowe may be called upon to step up in the midfield, while defensive rotations may be necessary to cover Calafiori’s absence. The match against Newcastle promises to be a challenging one, with the Magpies in strong form.
Despite these setbacks, Arteta remains optimistic, believing that the squad can adapt and compete effectively. Arsenal will need a resilient performance to overcome these absences and keep their momentum going in what has been a promising season so far.
