Saliba speaks out on something that the Arsenal squad must do in coming weeks
Arsenal centre back William Saliba has opened up on a big problem that they must fix in the coming weeks.
Arsenal defender William Saliba has emphasized the need for greater consistency from the team as they aim to maintain their strong form following a commanding 5-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League. Speaking after the match, Saliba reflected on Arsenal’s recent performances and issued a rallying call to his teammates ahead of their Premier League game against West Ham United on Saturday.
“I think we had two or three weeks before the international break when it was really tough,” Saliba admitted. “But now, we get back and we play two really good games. But it’s not enough. We have to keep going like this, and we have a big game on Saturday. It’s good for the confidence that we won against Sporting Lisbon, but let’s keep going like this.”
The 22-year-old centre-back, who has been a vital part of Arsenal’s defensive solidity this season, highlighted the importance of self-belief within the squad. “The coach always told us to believe because we are a really good team. We had some bad times, but now better times are coming. So, we have to stick together and keep going like that.”
Arsenal’s victory over Sporting was a morale-boosting performance, but Saliba’s comments underline the team’s need to sustain their form. With a challenging away fixture at the London Stadium against West Ham on Saturday, the Gunners will need to heed Saliba’s call for consistency as they push to stay in the Premier League title race.
