Arsenal’s Summer Clear-Out: Six Players Set to Leave the Emirates

Arsenal are preparing for a major squad overhaul in the summer transfer window, with several high-profile departures expected. According to a report by The Metro, the Gunners have already decided on six players who will be leaving the club at the end of the season, either as free agents or permanent sales.
Loan Players Set to Exit

Raheem Sterling and Neto will not be returning to the Emirates when their loan spells from Chelsea and Bournemouth respectively come to an end. Sterling, who arrived on loan last summer, has struggled to make a lasting impact in Mikel Arteta’s side, and Arsenal have no plans to sign him permanently. Similarly, Neto’s time in North London will come to an end, with the Brazilian goalkeeper heading back to his parent club once the season concludes.
Contract Expirations: Partey, Jorginho & Tierney Departing

Three experienced players—Thomas Partey, Jorginho, and Kieran Tierney—are all out of contract in the summer and will leave Arsenal as free agents. Partey’s time at the club has been heavily impacted by injuries, and with Arsenal looking to refresh their midfield, the Ghanaian will be allowed to move on. Jorginho, who was signed from Chelsea in January 2023, has been a solid presence in midfield but is not part of Arteta’s long-term plans. Tierney, currently on loan at Real Sociedad, has fallen down the pecking order due to the emergence of other options and will depart after his contract expires.
Defensive Duo to Be Sold

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior will also be put on the transfer market after falling out of favour with Arteta. The duo have started just four Premier League games combined this season, highlighting their diminished roles in the squad. Zinchenko, once a key player following his arrival from Manchester City, has struggled with form and fitness, leading Arsenal to consider cashing in on him. Kiwior, who joined the Gunners from Spezia, has not managed to establish himself as a regular starter and will be moved on to make space for new defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal’s Plans for the Future
With these departures, Arsenal will have significant room to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. The exits of Partey and Jorginho suggest the club will prioritize signing a new central midfielder, while Zinchenko and Kiwior’s sales indicate a likely defensive overhaul.
Arteta has already begun planning for the future, and the summer transfer window will be a pivotal moment in Arsenal’s project. The club is expected to reinvest in key positions, strengthening their squad for another push at the Premier League title and European success.
As Arsenal prepare for this massive squad revamp, fans will be watching closely to see who the club brings in to replace the outgoing stars. One thing is certain—change is coming at the Emirates.
