Arteta Reveals Stunning Post-Madrid Win Mood at Arsenal — But Issues Urgent Warning

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shed light on the mood within the Gunners camp following their unforgettable 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Speaking ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford, Arteta said the feeling around the training ground has been nothing short of electric.
“Great, it’s been an unbelievable energy, it was a very special night,” said Arteta. “That’s over and now the full focus is on Brentford, because it’s a game that is going to require the best of us.”
The Gunners produced a performance for the ages to take a commanding first-leg lead over the 14-time European champions, and the result has lifted spirits across the club. From players and staff to fans and pundits, Arsenal’s dominant display has been widely celebrated. But Arteta is keen to make sure the high doesn’t become a distraction as they refocus on domestic duties.
“The win over Madrid was something to be proud of,” he admitted. “But the challenge now is to stay grounded. We’ve achieved nothing yet. There is another leg to play, and we also have a Premier League title race to fight for.”
With a critical stretch of fixtures ahead, Arteta knows that every game matters. Brentford, who have proven to be tricky opponents in the past, will pose a different kind of test to the one Arsenal faced midweek.
“This is where mentality becomes key,” Arteta explained. “Brentford are physical, they press well, and they make life very difficult for any team. We need to match their intensity and impose our style.”
Despite the quick turnaround between matches, the Arsenal boss is confident his players are ready. He credited the positive vibes at London Colney and the team’s unity as major factors in keeping the squad sharp and motivated.
“The players are buzzing, but there’s a real maturity in how they’ve responded. Training has been focused. We celebrated the Madrid win as we should, but the boys have switched on again. They know what’s at stake,” he added.
Arteta also hinted that the emotional high from the Champions League win could serve as a springboard to fuel Arsenal’s push in the Premier League.
With Brentford up next and the return leg against Real Madrid looming, Arteta’s message is clear: enjoy the moment, but don’t lose sight of the bigger picture.
As Arsenal gear up for their next battle, the energy may be “unbelievable,” but their focus remains laser sharp. And that’s exactly how Arteta wants it.
