Declan Rice Sends Powerful Message Ahead of Arsenal’s PSG Showdown

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has delivered a bold and defiant message ahead of tonight’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain. The England international made it clear that the Gunners will travel to the Parc des Princes full of belief and without fear, confident that they have what it takes to turn the tie around and secure a place in the final.
Speaking in the build-up to the match, Rice pointed to Arsenal’s earlier win over PSG in the group stage as evidence that Mikel Arteta’s side can beat the French champions.
“I think our second group game of the Champions League, we beat PSG 2-0. It was the same team other than Dembele and Kvaratskhelia. Everyone else started and we beat them, so there’s no fear,” Rice explained. “Like I said, I think the goal inside three minutes probably shocked us a little bit, shocked the atmosphere a little bit. But once we found a foothold in the game again, we started creating chances. We fully believed that we could beat them.”
Despite falling 2-1 in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal are still well in the tie and need just a one-goal victory in Paris to push the match to extra time. With away goals no longer counting as double, Arteta’s men know exactly what is required—and Rice insists they are up for the challenge.
“Obviously it wasn’t meant to be [in the first leg], but we’ve seen enough and we know enough as a team that tomorrow night we can do something really, really good and we definitely believe that we belong at this level,” Rice added.
The 25-year-old, who has become one of Arsenal’s most influential players this season, emphasized the importance of mentality on a night where nerves and pressure will be sky high.
“We need to have big balls and we need to go out there on the biggest stage and show that we’re ready to play at this level,” he said, making it clear that the Gunners are not intimidated by the occasion or their opponents.
Rice’s fighting words will undoubtedly strike a chord with Arsenal supporters who are hoping to see their team reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2006. With stars like Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, and Kai Havertz ready to rise to the occasion, Arsenal fans will be encouraged by Rice’s confidence and leadership.
Arsenal’s midfield, anchored by Rice and boosted by the potential return of Thomas Partey, will be crucial in neutralizing PSG’s attacking threats and dictating the tempo of the match. With the tie delicately poised, tonight’s clash promises to be a high-stakes battle between two of Europe’s elite sides.
For Arsenal, the message is clear: they respect PSG—but they certainly do not fear them.
