Mesut Ozil Quits The Germany National Team

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has announced his retirement from international football after the German national team used him as an scapegoat for their disappointment in Russia.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has retired from football after he received immerse criticism from many Germans after he took a picture with the Turkish president before the start of the World Cup.

The German has today spent his time on composing some statements about the situations he undergone through in the World Cup as the Germany national team used him as a scapegoat  after their horrible performance in the World Cup saying that he wasn’t at his best and that his picture scandal ruined the momentum in the team.

Mesut Ozil today released a statement where he defended his decision to take a picture with the Turkey president as he says that his family has some roots in Turkey and the second statement was to criticize the German media which was printing him as the top headlines, criticizing him.

You can take a look at three of these statements where he fully explains why he has retired from international football.

The Arsenal midfielder wrote;

“I used to wear the German shirt with such pride and excitement, but now I don’t. This decision has been extremely difficult to make because I have always given everything for my teammates, the coaching staff and the good people of Germany.”

“But when high-ranking DFB officials treat me as they did, disrespect my Turkish roots and selfishly turn me into political propaganda then enough is enough.”

“That is not why I play football, and I will not sit back and do nothing about it. Racism should never, ever be accepted.”

This will however be good news for Arsenal fans because the midfielder will now fully focus on club football since he has retired from football and most gooners are consoling him on Twitter, saying that he has at least quit international football when he is a World Cup winner.
