Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that he is happy with Lucas Torreira and believes that he can play but says that everyone else also has the chance of playing too.
Arsenal completed the signing of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria in July after having been linked with the Uruguayan international for weeks but the midfielder has not been chosen in the starting eleven in the three matches which the gunners have so far played.
The gunners played against West Ham United last week and the gunners won the match, and Lucas Torreira was among the best performing players on the pitch that day even though he came from the bench, and the Arsenal fans are convinced that this should be enough to prove to Unai Emery that he should be using Torreira more often.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery held a pre-match press conference today and discussed on a number of topics including whether Lucas Torreira would be in the starting eleven that faces Cardiff City on Sunday in Wales, here’s what the manager responded as reported by Arsenal Player.
“I am very happy with the player (Torreira) and I think every player can play.” said Unai Emery.
“They also are working very well every day and demanding me with their works, to start the games. I like this spirit and also the possibility to play for the first 11 is okay.”
Unai Emery has surprised Arsenal supporters with his decision to start Matteo Guendouzi who is a youngster ahead of Lucas Torreira and they believe that the young Frenchman should be dropped so that they can see whether a partnership of, Xhaka and Torreira would work because it did work out well in the few minutes they played together against West Ham United.
Lucas Torreira has surprisingly become a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium even though he has made just three appearances for the club this season but they were impressed with his performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup so they will be hoping that he can do that in England too.
