What Are Arsenal’s Chances Of Winning The Europa League?

Arsenal is participating in the UEFA Europa League this season so let's take a look at their chances of winning this competition this season.

Unai Emery has been a successful manager at almost every club he has managed. Emery’s Sevilla heroics made him a specialist in the Europa League after winning it 3 times. After a spell with Paris Saint German, the Spaniard was appointed as the new manager of Arsenal FC.

The North London club got knocked out from the Europa League in the semi finals last season after Atletico Madrid defeated them. Their loss against the Spanish side also ended their hopes of playing the UEFA Champions League in the 2018/19 season.

One of Unai Emery’s targets will be to make the gunners competitive thus earn its rightful place among Europe’s Elite. This means getting into the top four which is highly contested by 6 teams or winning the Europa League.

Seeing that Arsenal went so far in the competition last season and being managed by a man who managed to win this competition on several occasions, one can only imagine the best for the Gunners this season. With that laid down, what are the realistic chances for Arsenal to win it?

First and foremost we have to look at the possible opponents that they will face in their route to the final. The Europa League strong teams on paper are Chelsea, AC Milan, Sevilla, Lazio and Marseille. Expect to see a few surprises from the likes of Celtic and Zenit St Petersburg.

As it is tradition, we will also have teams that finish third in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. We may see the likes of Napoli, Valencia, CSKA Moscow and Tottenham Hotspurs. The journey won’t be easy but the gunners are among the favorites after all.

Who can forget that night when Unai Emery engineered a comeback against no other than Liverpool in the final of the Europa League?

If Unai can transmit the zeal that Sevilla played with when he was at the helm of management, with all the strikers hitting all cylinders
and the defence working tight. Arsenal has great depth this season and that will help them fight for silverware across all the competitions.

Once Emery starts to get the best out of all the players, chances are that they will make it far, perhaps even become Champions.
