Arsenal news round-up on Aubameyang, Ozil and Vorskla match

Good morning gunners, Today is Wednesday and welcome to the Arsenal news round-up.

ARSENAL MATCH AGAINST VORSKLA MOVED FROM POLTAVA TO KIEV

There were rumours that Arsenal’s match against Vorskla would be cancelled because of the political unrest in Ukraine at the moment. UEFA has however made an announcement which states that Vorskla’s game against Arsenal which was previously going to be played at Poltava has been moved to Kiev because of martial law in the country.

It is devastating news for the expected 5000 Arsenal fans that were expected to travel to Poltava and will now have to change their arrangements to Kiev which is 200 miles away.

UNAI EMERY PLAYING MIND GAMES WITH MESUT OZIL

Unai Emery’s decision to bench Mesut Ozil surprised many and this has led to the start of speculations on why the manager made this decision because the German international was fit enough to play. Former Arsenal star Kevin Campbell says that this was a smart move by Unai Emery because it shows that he isn’t afraid to make tough decisions.

“I think it’s smart management (to drop Ozil). We know that sometimes when it gets really physical, people accuse Mesut Ozil of not even turning up for the game.” Kevin Campbell told Love Sport Radio.

“It’s away, it was going to be tough so he’s used his squad the best he can, he changed the system and Mesut Ozil is there on the bench if he needs him. This manager isn’t afraid to make tough decisions.”

AUBAMEYANG AWARE OF TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR CHALLENGE

The gunners will play against Vorskla on Thursday and they will face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. The North London Derby is a match which the Arsenal fans enjoy watching because of the rivalry between these two clubs that has been there for more than a 100 years.

Aubameyang has so far played in only one North London Derby and it ended 1 nil in favour of Spurs but the Gabon international is confident of winning the game even though their opponents are on form.

“We know that if we want to win we need to work a lot.” Aubameyang told Sky Sports.

“Both teams are playing well in this moment so we feel the atmosphere and the excitement. Everybody is talking about this game. It is always special to play a derby.”
