How Arsenal can still get the best deal out of Ramsey situation

A host of clubs across Europe are interested in landing Aaron Ramsey whose contract expires in June 2019 and is definitely not renewing it. The Football transfer rules state that a player is able to negotiate with clubs once he has just six months left on his contract, meaning Ramsey can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club of his choice and join them when his contract expires.

That will be a big blow for the club because they won’t even get a penny out of that deal and will have to spend money to get a replacement for the player they lost for free.

This is not a new case to Arsenal, last December, Alexis Sanchez was poised to leave Arsenal in January. He was meant to sign for Manchester City and Arsenal would get a fee way less than his supposed market value since his contract was expiring soon. However Manchester United came up with a more lucrative offer which was a direct swap deal involving no money, Manchester United got Sanchez and Arsenal got Mkhitaryan the deal favored both clubs although Sanchez didn’t live up to the expectations and Mkhitaryan hasn’t been consistent.

Arsenal can get that same kind of deal if they play hard ball. One of the clubs interested in Ramsey is Paris-Saint Germain(PSG) and they have a player whose contract also expires in June 2019 and risk losing him for free. So why not offer Ramsey and get Adrien Rabiot who is also a midfielder, it’s a win-win situation for both clubs.

Another club interested in Ramsey is Juventus, Arsenal could negotiate a swap deal with one of the out of favor players at their club not necessarily a midfielder one of the out of favor players could be a winger or a defender, this would highly benefit Arsenal since they need players in those positions.
