There has been reports claiming that Mesut Ozil has been removed from the squad that has traveled to Liverpool for today’s game against the Reds. The reports claim that the German international has been withdrawn from the squad because he has a knee injury.
Most of the Arsenal fans are angry about this and have released their disappointment on Twitter about these reports because they believe that Unai Emery intentionally left out Mesut Ozil because he feels the services of the German international won’t be needed at the Anfield Stadium.
But the truth is that most of these reports could actually be fake because Mesut Ozil was in the pictures taken on Friday as the Arsenal players trained ahead of their encounter against the league leaders. Yes, players do get injured in training but Arsenal Football Club released the latest team news on Friday night and talked about players like Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Dinos Mavropanos, and there was nothing about Mesut Ozil which confirms that he is not injured.
Even though Unai Emery has clearly stated that he needs more from Mesut Ozil over the last few weeks but it seems like some media houses are fueling the rumours of the coach and the German international not getting along.
We will have to wait until 17:30 GMT (lineups get released) until we can know the truth on whether Mesut Ozil is indeed missing the Liverpool match because of the reported knee injury.
