Unai Emery speaks out on his players diving in matches

Arsenal welcomed Huddersfield Town at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and they struggled to get a goal throughout the whole game until Lucas Torreira fired in a great acrobatic shot which made sure that Unai Emery got all the three points. The gunners came into this match but were almost embarrassed by the visiting team which looked composed at the back hence giving Arsenal attackers a hard time.

Arsenal tirelessly looked for a winning goal and three of their players including Matteo Guendouzi and Shkodran Mustafi received yellow cards for supposedly trying to dive in the Huddersfield Town penalty box. This shows how the North Londoners were so desperate to get a winner against Huddersfield Town so it seems teams that play defensive games will always give Arsenal a hard time.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery faced the press after the match against Huddersfield Town and he said that he doesn’t like the idea of simulation/diving in his team. Emery did not question the yellow cards given to his players for diving.

“I don’t want simulation from our players, I want more rhythm in the match. The opposition can decide what the rhythm is when they have the ball, and they wanted to play like that.” Unai Emery told Arsenal.com.

“It’s a tough match for that because of the opposition, because they were stopping the play by fouling us in the circumstances.”

Simulations are always common in clubs that always want to score goals in the penalty box and Arsenal is one of them because it will make many passes around the penalty box of the opposition’s side. The only Arsenal players that always try shooting the ball outside the box are Granit Xhaka, Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
