Manchester United officially open up on Arsenal’s interest in Eric Bailly

Arsenal has been linked with Eric Bailly for a while now but Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has commented on these rumours.

Arsenal is interested in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly who has found chances limited at the Old Trafford this season and it was even claimed a few days back that the gunners got their loan enquiry rejected. Manchester United’s caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he is not surprised that the gunners are interested in Eric Bailly.

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is reportedly not happy with the performance of his centre backs this season because they are not consistent as seen in the match against Liverpool where they caused most of those goals because of their sluggish defending from them and it is believed that the Spanish coach believes that Eric Bailly who was playing for Villarreal in the past would be a great signing for the gunners in this January transfer window.

Some reports from various papers in UK claimed that Arsenal approached Manchester United to request them to get Eric Bailly on loan but the Red Devils reportedly never wanted to do this type of business since they are direct rivals fighting for a spot in the Premier League top four. Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently faced the media and he was asked about Arsenal’s interest in Eric Bailly, and he claimed that it’s not a big surprise since there will always be speculations.

“I am not surprised if they do (want Bailly) to put it that way. But that’s just one of those things. There’s always speculation and it’s not a big surprise.” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Football.London.

The gunners will tomorrow face Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round and the North Londoners will be hoping that their current defence puts on a good performance as seen in their match against Chelsea.
