Official: Petr Cech to retire at the end of this season

Petr Cech has announced that he will retire at the end of this season. He has played at Arsenal for four years but he has a lot of history at Chelsea.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has announced that he will retire from football at the end of this season because he feels he has played for enough time and won many trophies in the 15 years that he has played in the Premier League.

Here’s the statement which he released on his official Twitter account.

“This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season.”

“Having played 15 years in the Premier League, and won every single trophy possible, I feel like I have achieved everything I set out to achieve.”

“I will continue to work hard at Arsenal to hopefully win one more trophy this season, then I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch.”

Petr Cech is one of the best goalkeepers that have ever played in the Premier League and he has won many trophies especially at Chelsea, four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and the UEFA Champions League.

Petr Cech arrived at the Emirates Stadium a few years back and he has won one FA Cup with the North Londoners in 2017 but he has finally called it quits. His contract at Arsenal was also going to expire at the end of this season and there were no hopes of getting offered a new one because of his age.
