Unai Emery makes a slight hint of signing Samuel Umtiti

Samuel Umtiti has surprisingly become a transfer target of Arsenal and gunners boss Unai Emery has finally commented on these transfer rumours.

Arsenal has been linked with a move for Samuel Umtiti in the last few weeks because it is understood that the gunners will splash out money in the summer transfer window to sign a quality centre back since their defence has been absolute shambles this season. Unai Emery will be hoping that they can sign their own Virgil van Dijk.

Samuel Umtiti has been at Barcelona for three years but injuries have made him lose a spot in their starting eleven this season and current reports claim that the Spanish Champions want to replace the French centre back with Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt who has been very impressive this season.

It is believed that the gunners will try to sign Samuel Umtiti in the summer transfer window because they want to strengthen their squad so that they can finally challenge for next season’s Premier League trophy. Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has finally commented on the transfer rumours linking Samuel Umtiti to the Emirates Stadium.

“He is a very good player, France has a lot of very good players playing abroad. the french championship is a very attractive market for many teams. I have always had french players in my previous teams.” Unai Emery told RMC Sport.

Unai Emery continued and hint at possibly signing Samuel Umtiti as he claimed that he has had French players in most of all the clubs that he has coached in his career. Even though the transfer window still has more weeks until it opens but the Arsenal fans are excited that Samuel Umtiti is getting linked with them because they would be a strong side if he gets partnered with Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
