Arsenal 1-1 Brighton: Gunners to either finish 5th or 6th

Arsenal has made a 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion today and this means that they will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season if they don't win the UEFA Europa League.

Arsenal will not be finishing in the Premier League top four this season because of their poor performance in their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium. Aubameyang gave Arsenal the lead in the first half via a spot kick after Monreal had been fouled in the penalty box. Murray also equalised in the second half also via a penalty.

The gunners have no-one to blame but themselves because of the outcome of this match because they were very slow in their build up in the first half and finally gained momentum in the last minutes of the first 45 minutes but Brighton’s goalkeeper made some impressive saves which kept the scoreline at 1-0. Despite getting numerous goal scoring chances, the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Arsenal but Brighton & Hove Albion had shown great signs of getting something from this match because the defence of the gooners was poor.

Arsenal started the second half on a poor note and invited pressure from a Brighton side that is usually defensive, and luckily for the visitors, they broke off on a counter attack through March and he got fouled by Granit Xhaka in the Arsenal penalty box. Murray made no mistake but put the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1. The gunners now embarked on a hunt for a winning goal and Aubameyang missed a sitter once again.

Unai Emery removed Mkhitaryan, Lichtsteiner, and Xhaka to bring in Guendouzi, Iwobi and Kolasinac but these three substitutes didn’t make any difference as the score line remained 1-1 meaning that the gunners have realistically failed to get a top four finish in this 2018/19 campaign. The gunners will now probably finish 5th or 6th this season.
