Emery provides update on Bellerin & Holding makes progress in his recovery

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made a positive injury update about Bellerin and Rob Holding has made progress in his recovery.

Arsenal was struck by many injuries last season but the ones of Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding hurt them the most because these two suit Unai Emery’s playing style. The new Premier League season has begun and these two didn’t play in the season opening game because they are still on the sidelines but Unai Emery has given a positive update on Bellerin and Rob Holding has made progress in his recovery.

Hector Bellerin got injured in January in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Chelsea and he has been on the sidelines ever since but Unai Emery said that the young Spanish right back will be back in one month which is fantastic news as they have missed him a lot.

“Hector Bellerin is coming back, I think one month more. Today we had Sead [Kolasinac] out and Kieran Tierney injured. We want to be strong defensively but above all being an offensive team.” Unai Emery told Football.London.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been covering for Hector Bellerin but he however has sometimes struggled in this position since he is not a natural right back. Maitland-Niles will however probably continue playing because the one month that Unai Emery might be talking about is when he will be back in full training, but not ready to play.

Rob Holding got injured last year and his recovery progress is in advanced stages because his injury happened before that of Bellerin. The young Englishman has today played 60 minutes in an Arsenal U23 match and he finished it off well without any problems.

Rob Holding’s return will give Unai Emery a lot of needed options and this could help the club to offload Shkodran Mustafi who has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium. Rob Holding looked fantastic last season before he got injured, so the gunners will be hoping that this injury hasn’t affected him.
