Arsenal have announced that their head coach Mikel Arteta has tested positive for corona virus and that their training ground will be closed.
Arsenal has released a statement that confirms that Mikel Arteta has tested positive for COVID-19 which is commonly known as corona virus and the club has decided to close down its training ground in order to avoid any more cases.
Arsenal was supposed to play against Brighton & Hove Albion today but that game has now been postponed after the news about Mikel Arteta and there’s a chance that the Premier League does get suspended as a whole today as an emergency meeting is scheduled to take place today.
Arsenal fans will be glad that Mikel Arteta is a healthy young man because the virus reportedly usually affects the elderly most since their immune systems are weak. Arteta has calmed down the supporters and also claims that he will start working again as soon as he’s allowed.
“This is really disappointing but I took the test after feeling poorly. I will be at work as soon as I’m allowed.” said the Arsenal boss.
Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi said that everyone at the club will be supported in these worrying times and reassures that Mikel Arteta’s health is the priority for now.
“Mikel and the full first-team squad, players and staff, will be fully supported, and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows. Obviously Mikel’s full recovery is the priority now for us all.”
