Two Arsenal players that will benefit from Premier League’s suspension until May

The Premier League will be back in May and here are two Arsenal players that will benefit from its extended suspension.

The Premier League has been suspended until May due to the COVID-19 virus and this news certainly came as disappointing to most players since the deadly disease was not only spreading but also meant that they would have to wait until May to play football once again. We however take a look at Arsenal players that will benefit from this Premier League suspension.

LUCAS TORREIRA:

Lucas Torreira got injured in Arsenal’s two nil win over Portsmouth in the FA Cup a few weeks ago and even though the injury that he sustained wasn’t very serious, he was still sidelined for atleast 10 weeks hence most claiming that his season was over since club football would be over by the time he came back.

However, with the season not ending in May, Lucas Torreira could still play for Arsenal this season as the season has been suspended for one more month. The gunners will surely be happy to welcome Torreira back to the squad before the season ends because he is their best defensive midfielder and they would need him as they’ll be playing a lot of scheduled matches in a few weeks time.

KIERAN TIERNEY:

Arsenal signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25million in the summer transfer window but he has however not had a consistent run of games in the squad of the North Londoners due to injuries that he came with and also one which he sustained in the 3-1 win over West Ham United in November. The Scottish left back got ruled out for three months and was about to make his return but the Premier League was suspended.

Kieran Tierney will now be fully ready when the Premier League returns because he was reportedly going to be in the matchday squad before Mikel Arteta was confirmed to be positive of COVID-19.
