Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly enters the Aubameyang contract talks

Arsenal striker Aubameyang is yet to agree to a new deal with the club and its now being reported that Mikel Arteta has now entered the talks.

Arsenal captain and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the North London club in recent weeks because he is yet to agree to a new deal. The Arsenal fans are anxious to see Aubameyang sign a new deal and it’s now being reported that their boss Mikel Arteta has decided to start persuading the Gabon international to commit his future to the gunners.

Aubameyang’s current contract at Arsenal will expire in 2021 and the club is believed to have already tabled a new deal for him since he has been the best player at the club for two consecutive seasons. Aubameyang has generally been quiet during this whole transfer saga about his future but there hasn’t been any sign that he will agree to a new deal with the North Londoners.

A new report by The Telegraph has however claimed that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will personally try to convince Aubameyang to stay at the club since they will need him in their bid to return to being one of the most top sides in the league. The report says that Arteta will take the matters in his own hands to initiate talks with Aubameyang and hopefully urge him to sign a new deal that would keep him at the club for more years.

Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new head coach in December and he has so far done a decent job with the club and one of the most important things that he improved was the squad harmony as everyone now looks seems to be united and the fans will now be hoping that Aubameyang listens to the Spanish boss and extends his stay at the Emirates Stadium for more years.

Arteta was successful in convincing Granit Xhaka to leave when the Swiss international had fallen out with the Arsenal fans,  it will however be more tough for him in urging Aubameyang to stay at the club since according to the above report, the 30 year old is being chased by many top clubs.
