Bernd Leno speaks out on Arsenal’s UCL dreams and facing Man City

Arsenal first choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno has spoken out on their chances of getting Champions League football and their game against Manchester City.

Arsenal are now in the ninth position on the Premier League table and they will face Manchester City next week with the hope that they can beat them to keep their top four hopes alive. Bernd Leno has spoken out on Arsenal’s chances of getting UEFA Champions League football and their upcoming game against Manchester City.

The Premier League hasn’t taken place in the last two months due to the Coronavirus but it will however return in a few days and since Arsenal were among the clubs that had postponed games, they are among the four clubs that will kickoff the league on Wednesday next week and everyone is anxious to see how they perform against Manchester City who are the current Premier League champions.

Bernd Leno who has been at Arsenal since 2018 says that he believes that it is a great way to restart the league with a big game against Manchester City since they will have to go full throttle quickly but admits that it will be strange playing after having been at their homes for two straight months. Leno also says that he believes they could get Champions League football since finishing fifth gets you there as Manchester City are  banned from the competition even though they have appealed.

“It’s a great way to start because we have to go full throttle right from the off – they’re an absolutely top team. It’ll be strange to play again after such a long time out and with such little time to prepare, but I’m optimistic about the rest of the season.” Bernd told DFB in an exclusive interview.

“I hope we can get into Europe. We’re not ruling out the Champions League places because we might get it with just fifth place, given Man City’s possible ban. We were in decent form before the break, I just hope we can get back to that when we return and end up in a European spot.”
