Mikel Arteta speaks out on returning to Manchester City for Arsenal’s first PL game since its suspension

Arsenal's current head coach Mikel Arteta will in a few weeks be facing Manchester City and the Spaniard has spoken out on how he feels to be coming back there as an opponent.

Arsenal will play Manchester City on the 17th of June and they will be the two of the first four clubs to play in the Premier League since it got suspended as these were games that were postponed. Arsenal’s game vs City will be a special game for Mikel Arteta since he spent three years at the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager.

Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their first head coach in December, 2019 after he had spent three years in Manchester as the assistant coach of Pep Guardiola and so everyone is excited to see how the Spanish boss does against his former boss as most believe that he should know all the weaknesses of the defending Champions.

Arsenal have not beaten Manchester City in their last six matches and so they will be hoping that Mikel Arteta becomes the key to them finally ending this streak but the Spaniard will on personal level feel that this will be a special day for him and he has spoken out his feelings about it.

“Going back to Man City for the first time is going to be a very special day for me. I’m really looking forward to it. It will be very strange to be there without supporters. I don’t know what kind of energy will be generated around the stadium.” Mikel Arteta told SunSport.

The Premier League has been on pause since March due to the spread of the Coronavirus but the league has however made preparations for its start and the gunners will feel bittersweet that their first game will be up against a top two club like Manchester City, but as for their coach, he is looking forward to going back to the Etihad Stadium.
