Kieran Tierney speaks out on why this has been the toughest year of his life

Kieran Tierney arrived at Arsenal in last year's summer transfer window and the Scottish left bags spoken out on why this has been the toughest year of his life.

Arsenal completed the signing of Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25million in the 2019 summer transfer window and the gooners have only been able to see his quality in the last few weeks since he has been troubled with injuries in his first year at the North London club. Tierney has reflected on this campaign and has revealed why it’s been the toughest year of his life

Kieran Tierney joined Arsenal when he was injured and only managed to get into the squad in the last weeks of Unai Emery’s reign, the Scottish left back then later got injured in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham United and was now only able to play for Mikel Arteta this season when the Premier League restarted.

Kieran Tierney has been impressive in the last few weeks as he even scored his first Arsenal goal in their last Premier League game against Watford and has revealed how this has been the toughest year of his life as he has passed through a lot of challenges. Tierney also says that he appreciates every opportunity that he gets and that he will continue working hard to repay the faith that the boss has put in him.

“It’s been the toughest year of my life. I’ve had the injury and a lot of new challenges but you need challenges, you need to be uncomfortable.” Tierney told Arsenal Media.

“You need to challenge yourself to improve. I worked hard every day and I knew it wasn’t going to be easy coming to this massive club full of great players. I knew it was going to be tough coming in and trying to get my place in the team.”

“I’m just grateful for every opportunity I get to go on the pitch and give my all. I try to repay the manager’s faith by working hard and trying to put in good performances. It’s all about the hard work.”
