Report: What Arsenal now needs to do to qualify for Europe after Man City ban gets overturned

Arsenal are at a risk of not playing in Europe next year but here's how they could qualify even though Manchester City's ban has been overturned

Arsenal have been so poor this season as they now find themselves in the ninth position on the Premier League table level on points with Burnley with just three games to go. Arsenal’s loss in the North London Derby was a huge setback on their chances of getting a European spot and now Manchester City’s ban not being upheld has complicated everything.

Manchester City were banned by UEFA a long time ago and everyone was playing with the thought that the Manchester club would be skipped when choosing the clubs that would qualify for European competitions but the ban has however been overturned and now Pep Guardiola’s side will now be eligible to play in next year’s UEFA Champions League. So how can Arsenal avoid missing out on European football for the first time in decades.

QUALIFYING FOR EUROPA LEAGUE THROUGH THE LEAGUE

After their loss to Tottenham Hotspur and fifth nolonger being a Champions League spot, Arsenal’s chances of playing there are done as there’s no way they will play in next year’s UCL and will now have to hope that they can atleast make it to sixth or seventh in the remaining three games to play in next year’s UEFA Europa League.

Arsenal’s next three games will be against Liverpool, Aston Villa and Watford and they will need to win all these three games as seventh placed Sheffield United are four points ahead of them with also a bit of a hard fixture schedule and Arteta will want Tottenham Hotspur to drop points since they are already above them. Here’s a visual representation of why Arsenal needs to win all its remaining games and how they will need to be lucky for all clubs to drop points so that things fall in place for them.

QUALIFY FOR EUROPE THROUGH FA CUP VICTORY

This is going to be Arsenal’s best chance of qualifying for Europe for next season as the club that wins the FA Cup is awarded a spot in the UEFA Europa League but Arteta’s men will however have to face a club that has been embarrassed them in their last six meetings as they have all ended up in losses for the North Londoners.

Arsenal lost to Manchester City in the first game since restart but they will however need to beat them and then defeat either Chelsea or Manchester United in the final to get qualification as their chances of achieving it in the league are really very low.
