Mikel Arteta indirectly sends a message to Arsenal supporters that want him sacked

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indirectly sent a message to the fans that want him to get sacked due to the current state of the club.

Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new manager at the end of 2019 after the departure of Unai Emery and he has faced many ups and down since he got the job as this was his first job as the main coach at a football club. Mikel Arteta has recently faced a lot of criticism since Arsenal’s defeat to Villarreal in the UEFA Europa League semi finals and he has indirectly sends a message to those that want him sacked.

Arsenal’s failure to win in the Premier League for many weeks led to the sacking of Unai Emery and the club then decided to bring in a former captain in Mikel Arteta who immediately pulled the fans together last season and the gunners improved a little bit in the league but their highlight of the campaign was at the end as the Spaniard led them to their 14th Emirates FA Cup trophy.

Arsenal have however struggled this season in all competitions except the UEFA Europa League and that is now in the balance as well as Villarreal won 2-1 in the first leg of the encounter against the gunners and this has seen many start calling for the club to sack Mikel Arteta immediately but he has however sent a message to those in his latest interview. Arteta was asked about how far Arsenal were to how he wants them and explained how some people could judge them for their current state but argued that he hasn’t had a normal season due to many obvious problems that all clubs have encountered in the past year.

“I will say there’s still a long long way to go to get to where we have to get. [The timeframe] will depend on what we do.”

“We’ve shown in big moments against big teams that we can beat anybody but the reality is that we haven’t showed that consistency every three days.” Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports.

“We’ve faced many challenges, some we didn’t expect, some of them completely unprecedented in the outside world and at this football club. To manage all that is pretty difficult. It’s created unsustainability and instability.”

“People will judge what we do today but lots of elements are contributing. I haven’t had a normal season yet. Without a proper pre-season, we had some instability, and [we need] our fans back in the stadium… I cannot wait for that.”
